Why not start your tour at Curiel
The Curiel-Reynolds School of Visual Arts, at 216 Sixth Ave. E. -- formerly the Reynolds Elementary School -- is a great place to start your self-guided tour. Now a teaching facility for glass and jewelry arts, CRVA holds regular classes through the Iowa Lakes Community College's Continuing Education Department. For the Artisan Road Trip the instructors will be doing some special demonstrations on the glass blowing torches. Director Tony Curiel will be on hand to explain the process of creating neon art and demonstrate a few techniques he uses in his plasma glasswork.
