Visitation will be from 1:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, with the family present from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.
Mrs. Nagel passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Spencer Hospital.
Donna Ahlers will be the organist. Hymns will include: "Beautiful Savior," "In The Garden," "How Great Thou Art," "I'm But A Stranger Here" and "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me."
Pallbearers will be: Robert Rausch, Gregory Rausch, Tracey Nagel, Leslie Nagel, Jennifer Walker, Justin Nagel, Robert Nagel, Ryan Nagel, Jeremy Nagel and Heath Nagel.
Zipora Lily Elizabeth Nagel, the daughter of Paul and Bertha Geiser Braunschweig, was born June 23, 1924, in Sutherland, Ia. Her childhood years were spent in Sutherland, where she received her education.
She was united in marriage to Herman Nagel at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland on Jan. 6, 1947. They made their home on a farm near Hartley, Ia. until moving to town in November of 1984. Zipora truly enjoyed life on the farm and raising her three sons there. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley. Zipora was one of the original residents of the Community Memorial Assisted Living Facility in Hartley and was very close to the staff. She also enjoyed playing pinochle and putting together puzzles. She will always be remembered for her fantastic Kettle corn that she made.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman on March 5, 1994, and two sisters: Pauline Meyer and Frieda Buckendahl; and one brother, Gladwin (Smiley) Braunschweig.
Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Dennis of Spencer, Duane and his wife, Priscilla of Spencer and Douglas and his wife, Beverly of Hartley, Ia.; 10 grandchildren: Robert Rausch, Gregory Rausch, Tracey Nagel, Leslie Nagel, Jennifer Walker, Justin Nagel, Robert Nagel, Ryan Nagel, Jeremy Nagel and Heath Nagel; four great-grandchildren: Matthew Nagel, Lauren and Gavin Walker and Anastasia Rausch; a brother, Paul Braunschweig, Jr. of Spirit Lake, Ia.; other relatives and many friends.
