Eileen Mary Molitor
In Loving Memory of Eileen Mary Molitor, March 1, 1921 to Sept. 21, 2009. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ruthven, Iowa on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, 10:30 a.m. Celebrant is Rev. Peter Nguyen.
Music will be provided by Darrell Weishaar, organist and Margaret Molitor, vocalist.
Placing the pall will be Eileen's granddaughters.
Honorary bearers will be Eileen's grandsons.
Casket bearers will be John Kenyon, Jerry Kenyon, Joseph Kenyon, Ronald Kenyon, Gary Weishaar and Donald Kenyon.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Ruthven, Ia.
Eileen Mary (Kenyon) Molitor, daughter of Albert and Margaret (Kyne) Kenyon, was born March 1, 1921 in Turin, Ia. She received her education in Rodman, graduating from Rodman High School in 1938. Eileen continued her education at Iowa Teachers College, graduating in 1939, with her teaching certification.
Eileen taught country school near Ayrshire in 1939 and near Laurens from 1940 until 1945. She was employed as a grade school teacher in Ringsted in 1946, Hartley in 1947 and then was a substitute teacher in the Ruthven school system for many years after that.
On June 2, 1948, Eileen was united in marriage to John B. Molitor at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mallard. To this union nine children were born.
Eileen was a devoted mother to her nine children, meeting their needs and caring for them, yet she always had time to help any child that needed someone. Eileen's devotion to her faith and her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary was and is a beautiful example to many.
She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish in Ruthven as well as Catholic Daughters of America. Eileen enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of Bridge Club. She was a 4-H Leader for many years. Eileen loved the time she spent with her family and she always enjoyed caring for her cats.
Eileen died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at her home near Ruthven, Ia., at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna (Clements) and Charles Molitor, Sr.; a grandson, Tyler James Molitor; two brothers, Lyle and Edward Kenyon; a sister, Erma Kenyon; sisters-in-law, Mary Kenyon and Margaret Kenyon; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Weishaar.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Becky) Molitor of Port St. John, FL, JoAnn (John) Siple of Rochester, Minn., Paul (Patricia) Molitor of Ruthven, Ia., Dennis (Shirley) Molitor of Carroll, Ia., Melvin (Margaret) Molitor of Spencer, Ia., Marilyn (Michael) Hildreth of Brookings, S.D., Jeanette (Ronald) Schwartz of Shoreview, Minn., Geri (Fred) Walker of Des Moines, Ia. and John J. (Kelley) Molitor of Osage, Ia.; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Kenyon of Emmetsburg, Ia.; a sister, Ina Weishaar of Emmetsburg, Ia.; sister-in-law, Marjorie Kenyon of Algona, Ia.; many nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
