Dr. Larry Anderson, 72, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 in Naples, Fla. Born Sept. 8, 1937 in Thompson, Iowa, Larry was the son of Leonard and Lucy (Saunders) Anderson. He attended Thompson High School before moving on to the University of Iowa where he graduated from dental school in 1962. He remained an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan throughout his life. After two years of service in the Air Force, Larry set up his first dental practice in Spencer, where he was an active member of the community for over 30 years. He moved to Naples in 1994 where he continued to practice dentistry until the date of his death. The Naples climate enabled him to enjoy the things he loved (especially golf, tennis, running and fishing) year round. Fun loving and full of enthusiasm for life, he will most likely be remembered for his quick wit, easy demeanor, and authentic concern for his patients.
