In Loving Memory of Suzanne R. Simington, June 9, 1944-Sept. 20, 2009, a private family graveside service will be held a Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. Clergy will be Rev. Larry Burns.

The music selection will be "Sissy Song" by Alan Jackson.

Inurnment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven, Ia.

Suzanne Ruth Simington, daughter of Robert Frances and Alma Nora (Nelson) Burns, was born June 9, 1943, in Richmond, Calif. She attended school in Emmetsburg and later attended Beauty School in Mason City.

On Sept. 21, 1963, Suzanne was united in marriage to Larry Dean Simington at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. To this union four children were born.

Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. They made their home in Spencer and Ruthven. Suzanne later moved to Emmetsburg to care for her mother.

Suzanne loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed Lost Island Lake. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sporting events and liked to watch the Food Network on TV. Suzanne was instrumental in getting the pet program established at the Emmetsburg Care Center. When she moved to the Care Center she took her dog, Skully and they now have a resident cat and dog for the residents to enjoy.

Suzanne died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at the Emmetsburg Care Center at the age of 66. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry in 1977 and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Bob Simington of Ruthven, Ia., Robin (Rod) Hanson of Marcus, Ia., Lori Kunzman and her friend, Nick Logan of Greenville, Ia., and Becky (John) Moore of Spencer, Ia. : 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Carol) Burns of South Elgin, Ill.; and a sister, Almalea Allen of south Elgin, Ill.; as well as many other relatives and friends.
