Elizabeth 'Betty' Fischer

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Fischer, 88, of Everly, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal. Rev. Bob Brown will officiate the service.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.

A Catholic Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.

Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. in Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.

Mrs. Fischer passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Fischer, the daughter of John J. and Edna Riessen Kupper, was born July 7, 1921, in Hartley. Her childhood years were spent in Everly, where she received her education, graduating from Everly High School in 1939. She worked at the Drug Store in Everly from 1939 until 1941.

Betty married Ted Fischer on Jan. 5, 1943, in Everly. Following their marriage, they lived in Lake Park for one year, moved to Hartley for three years, before moving back to Everly in 1946, where Ted farmed and Betty raised their family for the rest of their lives. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly, until it's closing, at which time they became members of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ted of Everly; three daughters: Linda DeMuth and her husband, David of Denison, Laurie Steinkamp and her husband, Tom of Carroll, and Lisa Myers of Everly; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of arrangements.
