Nathan Butterfield, 31, Royal, driving a 1983 Datsun 280ZX, was traveling west on 11th Street Southwest when a noncontact vehicle turned left from the north side of the intersection and blocked the view of both drivers. Sundall entered the intersection and was hit by Butterfield, who attempted evasive action by braking, leaving about 75 feet of skid marks. Officer Mike Weber, of the Spencer Police Department, was in the Monsanto Seeds parking lot, near the intersection of Seventh Avenue West and 11th Street Southwest covering another accident at approximately 1:18 p.m. Friday, July 17, when he heard and observed a 2003 Audi 41Q, driven by Matthew Baack, 32, Spencer, strike the rear of a 1996 Buick LeSabre, driven by Lisa Rigby, 41, Spencer. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Baack was stopped behind Rigby at an intersection for what Baack believed to be an excessive amount of time and failed to proceed into the intersection when traffic allowed. Baack stated he honked his horn at Rigby and Rigby made an obscene hand gesture toward him and Baack admits he reciprocated the gesture. When Rigby entered the intersection to travel north, Baack followed closely behind. Rigby stopped suddenly without signaling. Baack believed Rigby stopped suddenly on purpose to cause the accident. Rigby stated she could have entered the intersection sooner, but did not feel safe to do so. She further stated that she was making a right hand turn after she entered the intersection and had been having problems with her turn signals not working properly and admitted they were not activated when she stopped. Rigby denied intentionally stopping to cause the accident. Baack and his passenger, Vanessa Betsworth, complained of being sore, but both refused medical treatment. Baack's vehicle was disabled and towed by Bud's Service and Rigby's vehicle sustained minor damage estimated at $500.

Concerning Baack and Rigby "accident". It will be very hard to prove that the accident was intentional. This is another incendent of highway rage. If drivers would just think of what is happening and drive like sane people, I believe that this(and accidents) could have been avoided.
