Funeral services for Mr. Milton Christensen, 87, of Royal, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Rev. Craig Christensen will officiate the service.
Visitation will begin after 11 a.m., Friday, with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Spencer.
Interment will take place at Willow Creek Cemetery in Royal.
Mr. Christensen passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.
Milton Knud Christensen, the son of Peter and Mary Bang Christensen, was born Feb. 13, 1922 in Royal. He received his early education and graduated from the Royal High School. Following his schooling, Milton farmed.
On Aug. 15, 1943, Milton married Marion Neilsen. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed near Royal. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and the Farm Bureau. On July 16, 1980, Milton married Jeanne Hunt in Peoria, Ill. Following their marriage they lived in Royal.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marion in 1964; two daughters: Julie and Carol; two brothers: Harvey and Francis "Frankie"; and a sister, Mabel Percival.
Milton is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Royal; two sons: Chris Christensen of Royal, and Larry Christensen and wife, Valerie of York, S.C.; three daughters: Shirley Runnels and husband, Dick of Omaha, Neb., Sharon Joy and husband, Tony of Spencer, and Terri Christensen of York, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-children: Shelly Garnett and husband, Kenny of Peoria, Ill., Suzan Dill and husband, Tim of Mount Horeb, Wis., and Scott Miller and wife, Linda of Chillicothe, Ill.; three step-grandchildren; and one brother, James "Jake" Christensen of Spencer.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
