Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009, at United Methodist Church in Royal. Rev. Jo Frahm Watkins will officiate the 10:30 a.m. service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service and lunch will be served following the service. Inurnment will be at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer.
His grandchildren and great-grandchildren are honorary bearers.
Harold Everett Yungbluth, Sr., the son of Fred and Ida (Bussell) Yungbluth, was born on March 30, 1920, in O'Brien County. He grew up in the Rossie area where he was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Royal. He attended school in Rossie, where he graduated from High School in 1937.
He was united in marriage to Helen Greene on August 15, 1943, in South Sioux City, Neb. Following their marriage, they lived near Linn Grove, where he farmed. While he was farming, he worked for his father and brother-in-law driving truck and he also drove the school bus. In 1973, he moved to Royal and worked as a carpenter for over 30 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Royal.
Mr. Yungbluth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Pamela and one brother, Robert.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Harold Jr. and his wife, Linda of Royal; David and his wife, Jan of Rossie, and Steven and his wife, Helena of Morro Bay, Calif.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society of Hospice of Northwest Iowa. Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
