Graveside services for Kathleen Hanna Ruesch, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.
Mrs. Ruesch passed away in West Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 25, 2008, at the age of 85.
Kathleen was born on March 16, 1923 in Ruthven, the fourth daughter of Roy R. and Iola Scott Hanna. She was raised in Ruthven and graduated from Ruthven Public School in 1941. She had been a California resident for over 65 years.
The youngest of the Hanna children, Kathleen was the first to leave Ruthven and moved to Southern California in 1942 with her first husband. She worked for Douglas Aircraft for a brief time before becoming a mother in 1943. She re-married several times, raised four children, and held various positions as a clerk, sound stage manager and caregiver for the elderly. She had a passion for acting, and in the 1980's made a few small television appearances. She also had an extraordinary gift for writing, and has written many unpublished short stories, novels, and poems throughout her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Tom L. Hanna and Robert Mark Hanna; sisters: Arlene Josephine Hanna and Dorothy Jean Hanna Sturdevant; husband, David Lemar Ruesch; and her eldest son, Robert Mark Lemmon.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Roi James; son, Adam John Dorn; daughter, Sarah Jane Dorn Siegel; five grandchildren; and sister, Jane Hanna Swanson.
