Vocal soloist featured at Pack the Park night

The Spencer Municipal Band's annual Pack The Park Night will be Thursday, July 2 at 7:30 PM at the East Leach Park Band Shell and features baritone voice soloist - John Michael Moore. John is a multi-year winner of district and regional Metropolitan Opera auditions and reached the finals in 2006. He has been working for the Metropolitan's Young Artist Development Program and performing all over the world to packed houses and positive reviews. This summer John is performing with the Des Moines Opera Company as the lead, Figaro, in their production of The Barber of Seville.

John will be singing some patriotic and light music with the Spencer Muni-Band. In the Good Old Summertime and Some Enchanted Evening from Rogers and Hammerstein's South Pacific are some examples of music he will bring to life on Thursday. His performance is possible through a grant from the Clay County Community Betterment Foundation. In case of rain the concert will be held at The Old Middle School Auditorium located on East 4th.
