Arrests

Sara Wirkus, 23, Spencer, was charged with theft fifth degree at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Wal-Mart. She was released on a police citation.

Shayne Pomeroy, 23, Ruthven, was charged on a Clay County warrant for failure to serve sentence at 8:57 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the 300 block of Grand Avenue. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department.

Cyril Ganzevoort, 33, Spencer, was charged with vicious animal at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in the 500 block of West Sixth Street. He was released on a police citation.

Patrick Kenyon, 22, Spencer, was charged with OWI first offense at 2:29 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at First Avenue West and West Fourth Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department.

Thomas Rutledge, 23, Estherville, was charged with public intoxication at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the 700 block of Grand Avenue. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department.

Daniel Perez, 41, Spencer, was charged with public intoxication at 8:12 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the 200 block of Grand Avenue. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department.

Matthew Nemmers, 25, Spencer, was charged on a warrant from Dickinson County for failure to appear and with public intoxication at 2:18 a.m. Sunday, June 21, in the 600 block of East 10th Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department.

Amanda Hernandez, 32, Spencer, was charged with disorderly conduct and domestic abuse at 7:09 p.m. Sunday, June 21, in the 10 block of 11th Street Southeast. She was transported to the Spencer Police Department.

Incident

At 10:46 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, the owner reported a 25" lime green 10-speed Trek 7300 Hybrid bike valued at $685 in the 10 block of West Fifth Street.

Accidents

Morgan Haviland, 16, Spencer, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox and Gale Igou, 64, Spencer, driving a Buick Century were both traveling northbound in the 1800 block of Highway Boulevard at approximately 10:24 p.m. Thursday, June 18, when Haviland, who was driving on the inside lane made a right turn to the outside land and hit Igou's vehicle, causing approximately $3,000 damage to the Equinox and approximately $2,500 in damage to the Century. A possible injury was reported, however, all involved in the collision refused ambulance treatment.

Venetia Blakely, 80, Spencer, was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus at approximately 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, failed to yield while making a left turn from a stop sign at West Seventh and 11th Avenue, striking a 1992 Buick Century in the driver's side driven by Gary Christofferson, 71, Spencer. Damages were estimated at $1,500 to the Taurus and $2,000 to the Century.
