It's been 70 years since the class of 1939 clutched their high school diplomas and moved into the world of adulthood. Thursday afternoon, 15 members of the class - which in 1939 was 100-plus strong - gathered at the Golfview Condos in south Spencer to enjoy lunch together and share stories from the past 70 years. After lunch, the group came together for a "class picture" (Top picture). Those in the class include: (Seated) Art Rhodes, Marge Guerttman, Magnus Johnson, Marilyn Axtell Nielsen, Mildred Mai Garrett, Iowa Stitz Mathison, (standing) Betty Pullen Schwarck, Bob Guerttman, Mary Gillette Maurer, Jean Ahrenstorff, Joyce Mickelson Chaplin, Lois Ralle Lynn, Wayne Winslow, Marceliene Garnjobst Eckhart and Harvey McVey. (Middle picture) Several photos of past reunions were scattered about a table along with newspaper articles, yearbooks and even a plastic tiger. (Bottom picture) Classmates, family and friends shared stories and laughs around the table over lunch.

I think this is so neat that they still get together after 70 years....I am sure we could all learn a lot from these people!!!
