Genevieve N. Haburn, nee Nichols, 88, of Brookfield, Ill., formerly of Spencer, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, Ill., where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Genevieve N. Haburn was born on Oct. 11, 1920 in Mountain View, Mo. On June 10, 1941 she married Arnold Haburn at Spirit Lake. They had a farm in Iowa until moving to California. They soon moved back to Iowa and farmed in Terril. In 1958 Arnold was killed in a farming accident. Genevieve moved with her five daughters to Spencer, where she lived until 2002.

She was an active member of the Spencer Baptist Church. She was a leader in the 4-H.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.

Genevieve is survived by five daughters, Mary Anne Haburn-Lisowski and husband, Henry of Brookfield, Ill., Sharon Dilling and husband, Bob of Fairfax, Va., Janice Shober and husband, Phil of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda North and husband, Bill of Wheaton, Ill., and Caroline Haburn and husband, Mike of Vancouver, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
