Arrests

Manuel Martinez, 27, Spencer, was arrested on a Clay County warrant on a charge of violation of probation at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, in the 20 block of West First Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

David Hobart, 51, Spencer, was charged with public intoxication at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, in the 10 block of West Third Avenue. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Hannah McGruder, 29, Spencer, was charged with OWI at 10:22 p.m. Saturday, May 23, in the 1000 block of Third Avenue East. She was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

A 16-year-old Spencer male was charged with fifth degree theft at 11:16 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and released to a parent.

Ronald Moriarty, 51, Spencer was arrested on a Clay County warrant on the charge of failure to serve sentence at 10:24 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, in the 400 block of East 12th Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Danny Ables, 57, Spencer, was arrested on a Clay County warrant on the charge of failure to serve sentence at 9:52 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, in the 200 block of 32nd Avenue West. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Keith Benschoter, 41, Spencer, was charged with possession of fireworks, at 1:05 a.m. Monday, May 25, in the 700 block of East Eighth Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Benjiman Matthews, 19, Spencer, was arrested on a Palo Alto County warrant on the charge of possession controlled substance and also charged with possession drug paraphernalia at 7:53 p.m. Monday, May 24, in the 900 block of 11th Avenue West. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Colburn Blazek, 32, Spencer, was charged with driving while revoked at 5:19 p.m. Monday, May 25, in the 300 block of Fourth Street Southwest. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Alan Rinden, 44, Spencer, was charged with unlawful possession of a prescription drug at 9:13 p.m. Saturday, May 23, in the 2100 block of First Avenue East. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Terry Kreig, 46, Spencer, was charged with disturbing the peace at 11:39 p.m. Friday, May 22, in the 300 block of East Ninth Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Michael Ziegmann, 35, Spencer, was charged with public intoxication at 8:01 p.m. Monday, May 25, in the 600 block of East Fifth Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

James Tingle, 18, Spencer, was charged with OWI first offense at 1:04 a.m. Friday, May 15, in the 600 block of South Grand Avenue. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Robert Clinkenbeard, 24, Spencer, was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, May 23, in the five block of East 21st Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Johnette Dodds, 28, Spencer, was charged with interference with official acts at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, May 23, in the five block of East 21st Street. She was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

An 11-year-old Spencer male was charged with assault at 2:06 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in the 700 block of West Ninth Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and released to a parent.

Shawn Kilbride, 27, Spencer, was charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts at 1:44 a.m. Thursday, May 21, in the 100 block of West Park Street. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Ashley Salberg, 18, Spencer, was charged with interference with official acts at 5:11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, in the 4700 block of 290th Avenue, Webb. She was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Jonathan Koenig, 20, Webb, was charged with assault on an officer, interference with official acts and disorderly conduct at 5:11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, in the 4700 block of 290th Avenue, Webb. He was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.

Casey LeClair, 24, Spencer, was charged with operation without owner's consent and burglary third degree at 4:29 a.m. Friday, May 22, at Ninth Avenue East and East 12th Street. She was transported to the Spencer Police Department and turned over to the Clay County Jail.


Accidents

Thomas Rutt, 48, Spencer, driving a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van, was parked at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Grand Avenue when John Langteau, 23, Chaseburg, Wis., driving a 2007 International semi tractor, was making a right turn onto West Fourth Street from Grand Avenue. Rutt began exiting his parking stall and struck the rear right tires of the semi trailer, leaving scuff marks on the tires. Damage to the van was estimated at $2,500 and no damage was estimated to the semi. No injuries were reported.

Tess Easton, 18, Everly, driving a 2001 Ford Taurus, turned left at 18th and Grand into the path of Charles Bredemeier, 67, Arnolds Park, driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. Easton stated that the light had just turned yellow when she entered the intersection. Bredemeier stated that the stop light for northbound traffic was green when he proceeded into the intersection. Damage to the Ford was estimated at $1,500 and the same for the Chevrolet. No injuries were reported. Easton was citied for failure to yield upon a left turn.

Valorie Van Ampting, 54, Spencer, driving a 1993 Buick Park Avenue was traveling northbound on 10th Avenue East and attempted to turn left onto 12th Street. Jennifer Schuster, 29, Spencer, driving a 2006 Ford 500, was traveling southbound on 10th Avenue East and struck Van Ampting's vehicle, who failed to yield. Vehicle damage was estimated at $5,000 to the Buick and $4,000 to the Ford. Schuster was transported by ambulance to the Spencer Hospital for possible injuries. Van Ampting was cited for failure to yield on left turn. Grass/turf damage was estimated at $50 to Jarold Krogman's property.
