Interment will take place at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland.
Mrs. Rahbusch passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Sioux City.
Leanne Marie (Maass) Rahbusch, the daughter of Wayne and Faye (Mugge) Maass, was born Jan. 4, 1961, at LeMars. The family moved to the farm west of Calumet in 1962. Leanne was very active in both girls and boys 4-H and many of her projects were presented at the Iowa State Fair. She loved beating her brothers in showmanship.
Leanne graduated from Sutherland High School and went on to college at SDSU at Brooking, S.D. Later, she enrolled in computer classes at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon where she excelled and was honored with a top achievement award. Leanne also taught computer classes at this school.
On Dec. 10, 1981, Leanne was united in marriage to Tom Rahbusch. They made their home in Tacoma, Wash., where Tom was stationed. They later were transferred to Germany until Tom Was discharged. Leanne was employed for some years with Maurer Manufacturing and later became employed at JTV in Sutherland were she was presently employed. She was also doing payroll for R&L Construction in Primghar.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca, who died at birth; and her mother, Faye.
Leanne is survived by her husband Tom Rahbusch of Sutherland; three daughters: Jennifer Hershberger and husband, Steve of Johnston, Justine Mowrer and husband, Cody of Waverly, and Johanna Rahbusch of Sutherland; one son, Matt Bocchi of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren; father, Wayne Maass and wife, Judith of Paullina; brothers and sisters: Kevin Maass and wife, Lee of Omaha, Neb., Doug Maass and wife, Sue of Austin, Texas, Amy Wettergreen and husband, Dave of Riverside, Calif., Barry Maass and wife, Susie of Ida Grove, Paul Maass and wife, Julie of Omaha, Neb., and Kendall Carter of Los Angeles, Calif.; father and mother-in-law: Tom and Connie Rahbusch of Sutherland; and brother-in-law, Mark Rahbusch and wife, Tina of Des Moines.
