"After a great weekend finish in the conference tournament, it was nice to see the girls maintain a good level of tennis," said Spencer coach Brett Groen.
Spencer won handily in a number of matches giving up five games or less in six of the nine matches.
Holly McCloud produced her seventh singles win of the season, 10-2, over Samantha Kavan, whiel Jennifer Barnett defeated Linda Her 10-3 at No. 2 singles.
The Spencer duo, who won the Lakes Conference doubles title Saturday, played their first No. 1 doubles match of the season, beating Her and Amanda Hemberg 10-1 in the most lopsided match of the meet.
"This was just another carry over for them after their championship run over the weekend," Groen commented.
Hannah Maertens added a 10-4 win over Hemberg at the top singles spot and Jill Wittrock beat Emily Deiters 10-5; Maertens and Mackenzie Kabrick produced a 10-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Amanda Edwards and Lutda Lovan won in a tiebreaker, 11-10 (7-4).
"We got off to a great start in singles. With the match in hand, it gave us an opportunity to mix things up seeding-wise in doubles," Groen said.
