Martin Arthur, executive director of Arts on Grand, shows Arts on Grand Telethon host Jill Barr miniature replicas of the new piece of artwork that has been chosen as part of a contest for a new piece of art for Spencer. Multiple artists submitted ideas for the project, and William Lieb's sculpture "Letting Go" will be the first public work of art commissioned by SPACE. Arthur explained the process and showed the piece to Barr during a segment of Sunday afternoon's telethon broadcast live from the SMU complex. Over $13,000 was raised to assist the local arts center with its annual operating cost. This marks the second year of the fundraiser and the live telethon. Several entertainers performed during the broadcast and local artist Katie Plucker painted in studio over the course of the four-hour show.
