Alice Mae Bremer Hummel, 79, of Littleton, Colo., passed away on April 14, 2009.

Memorial services were held in Colorado with all memorials going to Porter Hospice Foundation of Denver.

Alice was born on Oct. 24, 1929 to Mable and Edward Hollenbeck. She was adopted by John and Frances Bremer of Moville. She received her education in Moville, and graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City.

On June 10, 1951, Alice married Francis Hummel in Moville, making their first home in Cushing. The couple moved to Spencer in 1960, where they owned and operated Hummel Redi-Mix and The Stockman's Club in Everly. Alice was very active with the Spencer Hospital Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star while in Spencer. The couple moved to Grand Island, Neb., in 1979 and Alice moved to Littleton, Colo., following Fran's death in 1995.

Alice is survived by two children: Michael and his wife, Bev of Dickens, and Michelle and her husband, Eric of Highlands Ranch, Colo; and three grandchildren.
