Funeral services for Mr. Paul Dean Orris, 63 of Decatur, Neb., will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ Decatur Restoration Branch.

Dale Wolf, Evangelist and Rev. Philip Sloat will officiate the service.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur with military honors by the VFW Gleason-Rogers Post No. 6926 and American Legion Rogers-Crum Post No. 215

Mr. Orris passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his home in Decatur with his wife, Edie at his side.

Paul was born March 25, 1946 in Norfolk, Neb., to Dean and Betty (Compton) Orris. He grew up in Akron, graduating from Akron High School in 1964. He was known to his family and many friends as Mike or Gator. He was in the Army National Guard out of Sioux City, while yet in high school and served in the U.S. Army (1964 - 1967), stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and in Butzbach, Germany.

On June 30, 1967 he married Edie M. Place in Sioux City. After a separation that began in 1972, their marriage was restored in 2001. Paul said of himself concerning all the different jobs he had worked that he was 'a jack of all trades but master of none'. In 2001, Follow the Fish MC Ministries was born and they ministered especially to bikers. That ministry came to a halt after Paul was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in June of 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three infant grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his wife, Edie; daughters: Margo Leisinger and husband, Dave of Moville, and Dream Weaver of St Louis, Mo.; sons: Jeremy Orris and wife, Alison of Carson City, Nevada, and Michael Orris and wife, Carol of Spencer; nine grandchildren; sisters and their husbands: Pat and Larry Michael of Akron, Terri and LeRoy Carlson of Norfolk, Neb., Becky and Dick Frerichs of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Debbie and Dave Baker of The Colony, Texas; and brothers: John Orris of Rochester, Minn., and Robert Orris of Akron.

Memorial may be made to the family.
