Lisa Campbell Ernst
Children's author and illustrator Lisa Campbell Ernst will be visiting Spencer elementary schools on March 31. Besides entertaining students, her programs at Johnson, Lincoln and Fairview schools will be designed for parents and community members interested in early childhood education.

Ernst is also scheduled to deliver a program for members of the public at 7 p.m. in the district's central administrative office building, located at 23 E. Seventh St.

Ernst has written and illustrated over 20 books, including "Stella Luella's Runaway Book," "Sylvia Jean," "Drama Queen," "Goldilocks Returns," "Sam Johnson and The Blue Ribbon Quilt," "Wake Up It's Spring," "When Bluebell Sang," and "Ginger Jumps."

Set to highlight the books "The Gingerbread Girl" and "Turn Around Upside Down Alphabet" during her school presentations, Ernst will cover several of her books during the evening parent program.

For more information on this Family Literacy Grant-sponsored event, contact Pat Burke at 262-2710 Ext. 6121.
