The Spencer Daily Reporter, KICD 107.7, Lite 104.9 and KICDAM working together with TNA Wrestling, will be sponsoring a fundraising match for the Shayla Bee Foundation as part of the touring wrestling organization's show beginning at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at the Clay County Regional Events Center.

Team 3D, consisting of Brother Ray and Brother Devon, challenged the current TNA tag team champions, Beer Money Inc. to a table match in Spencer. In a table match, the winner throws one of the opponents through a table, smashing it into pieces.

Brother Ray, during an interview on Lite 104.7 Friday morning, aniticpating that it would be Team 3D doing the table breaking, agreed to allow the two local media entities to auction off the pieces of the table ahead of time.

So wrestling fans can contact either Daily Reporter Managing Editor, Randy M. Cauthron or Lite 104.9 morning man, Kevin Tlam to claim their rights to a piece of the table. The cost of a chunk of the table will be $75, with all proceeds going to the Shayla Bee project.

Additionally, Team 3D has agreed to sign all the pieces of the table that are auctioned off, and will host a meet and greet with those who purchase a piece of the table. Team 3D will be joined by other TNA stars at the meet and greet.

Fans are being asked to e-mail Cauthron at news@spencerdailyreporter.com, or Tlam at ktlam@ncn.net before Friday to get on the auction list for a piece of the table. The e-mail names will go on a list for first-come, first-served basis for table pieces available. The list will be at a table in in the lobby at the TNA event Saturday night where you will pick up a pass indicating you are to receive one of the pieces and be part of the meet and greet.

Money can either be brought to the Daily Reporter through Thursday or to the KICD studio through Friday during regular business hours, or pay at the table at the Events Center on Saturday. To ensure a piece is available, be the first to drop off your payment.

Five people who make their donation through the paper, and five people who make their donation at the radio station, will also be drawn from among all the donors and will be eligible for a special TNA prize package including DVD sets, T-shirts, autographed pictures and more.

All persons purchasing a piece of the table, need to have a ticket to the event by Saturday night when they get to the registration table.

Questions? Please contact Randy Cauthron at news@spencerdailyreporter.com, or Kevin Tlam at ktlam@ncn.net

About Shayla Bee

The fund, says Jerry Faulkner of Spencer, is named after his granddaughter, Shayla Kaye Rohrbaugh. She died in 2006 of schizencephaly, a rare developmental birth defect. Since the 6-year-old's passing, her family has worked to establish a fund - known as the "Shayla Bee Fund" - in her honor. Their pledge to contributors is to treat every donation as if it was a "sacred memorial to Shayla."

The money is used to assist families with ill children who have financial situations that might restrict them from being with their children as they are treated.

For information on the Shayla Bee fund, visit myspace.com/shaylabeefund or contact Jerry Faulkner at shaylabee@janclo.com.

Donate - Help a kid

Local businesses and service clubs are being encouraged to make donations of $75 or more to the cause by contacting Randy or Kevin. Those donations will allow some children or individuals who not otherwise be able to take home a souvenir or take part in the meet and greet a chance to do that. A $150 donation could make it possible for a couple of young boys to take advantage of the fun, while supporting the Shayla Bee cause. If interested, please contact Randy at 262-6610, ext. 116.
