At approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday emergency responders from Everly Fire and Rescue, the Clay County Sheriff's Office and Spencer Hospital were called to the scene of a single car accident at the T-intersection of 150th Avenue and 350th Street (County Road B-24).
Upon arrival, a 1999 Silverado was discovered in a creek. Two passengers inside, the driver, Wade Loehr and four-year-old, Anthony Loehr -- both of 3840 150th Ave., in rural Spencer -- were removed and transported to Spencer Hospital. Because of the dense fog, emergency flight helicopters could not respond and the two were transported by ground to the regional hospital.
According to the Clay County Sheriff's report, Loehr was traveling northbound on 150th Ave., approaching the intersection with 350th St. He was unable to see the stop sign through the fog,
and either panic breaked or steered, but was unable to stop. The Silverado traveled through the intersection, entered the ditch on the north side of the road and came to rest facing in a northeasterly direction in a creek.
Loehr estimated he was traveling at 45 to 50 miles per hour in the 50 mile per hour speed zone, and said that he couldn't see more than 25 yards ahead of the vehicle because of the fog.
Damage to the Silverado was estimated at $7,500.
No information was available on the status of the two persons injured in the accident.

Going 50 mph is heavy fog is not the brightest idea he had. I am happy no one was fatally injured.
rfjohnson, clearly, Mr Loehr has suffered the repercussions of his choices. Do you really need to come online and make snarky remarks about it? You should have stuck with your second comment and left it at that.
I aggre with notinia. It doesn't take a genius once you're in the ditch. I wish no one ill will, but if notinia should go into a ditch under similar condition, I'ld sure like to know about it! LOL
