Deputies seize drugs, arrest three

Friday, February 27, 2009
Three Fostoria men face drug distribution charges after a search by Clay County Deputies turned up marijuana on Wednesday.

The search took place just before noon at 16 Highway Avenue Southwest in Fostoria. Deputies said they found several pieces of drug paraphernalia and approximately 1.3 pounds of marijuana.

Deputies and members of the Iowa State Patrol placed 18-year-old Micah Meloccaro, 22-year-old Jesse Clark and 23-year-old Joshua Coddington under arrest. All three lived at the location. They were present at the time of the warrant search and were transported to the Clay County Jail without incident, according to Clay County Sheriff Randy Krukow.

"This has been an ongoing investigation by the Clay County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force," Krukow said. "It's one of many and we are diligent in our efforts and will continue to root out drug dealing and use in Clay County."

Meloccaro, Clark, and Coddington were all charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, a Class D felony, drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. They were each held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
