Beverly Jean Bappe passed away on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at her home in Casper, Wyo.

A memorial service will follow in June in Webb, where both Jessie's and Bev's ashes will be buried next to Gerald.

Beverly Jean Bappe was born July 8, 1937 in Milford. She was the only child of Gerald and Jessie Hart. Bev was raised in Webb, and later graduated from college in Cedar Falls with her teaching degree. Jessie raised Bev for many years alone while Gerald was at war, and similarly Beverly nursed Jessie as she developed Alzheimer's. Jessie worked as a postmaster in Webb, Iowa for nearly 40 years and was active in the church and library. Both were avid bridge players.

Beverly taught for almost 30 years in the classroom and developed a special interest in reading recovery.

Beverly Hart married Phil Bappe in l963. They had twin girls: Jennifer Sue and Julie Ann, who was coincidentally born on their father's birthday. Bev and Phil later divorced in 1982 and she never remarried.

She had moved to Casper, Wyo., with her mother only six months prior to her death to be closer to her children. Her mother, Jessie Hart, died only two months before her.

She were preceded in death by her father, Gerald Hart

Survivors include her twin girls: Jennifer Mayer and husband, Kurt and their children, and Julie Powell Novick and husband, Rob Novick and her children.
