Funeral services for Forrest M. Adams, 90, of Spencer, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Milford Cemetery in Milford. Military services will be concluded by Glen Pedersen Post No. 1 - American Legion of Spencer and American Legion Post No. 384 of Milford.

Forrest passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.

Forrest M. Adams, the son of Hubert and Nancie (Mills) Adams, was born August 12, 1918, in Alliance, Neb. His childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove area, where he received his education. He entered the military in 1942, and served with the Army Air Corps with the 190 3rd Engineers Aviation Battalion in Okinawa and Iwo Jima, until his honorable discharge in 1946.

Forrest married Lois Boers on October 16, 1949, in Spencer. Following their marriage, he did construction work for various contracting companies. Later, they lived in Spencer, where he worked at Hyline and also worked as a driver for A & M Laundry, where he was employed until his retirement after 29 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. He was also an active member of the American Legion and the VFW in Spencer. He enjoyed craftwork and woodworking as well as walking, camping and riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; one sister; and several nieces and nephews

Forrest is survived by his wife, Lois of Spencer; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Rex (Marjorie) Bever of Milford, and Mrs. James (Ada) Lauck of Spencer; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

Warner Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
