Doris E. "Pado" (Gass) Ervin, 89, of Wymore, Neb., formerly of Omaha, Neb., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center in Wymore, Neb.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice with Rev. Kelly Karges and Rev. Jerry Brabec officiating.
Interment took place at the Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha.
She was born April 17, 1919 in Wymore, spent her childhood in Omaha where she attended Walnut Hill Grade School, and was a graduate of Benson High School. She married Dr. Charles C. Gass on Oct. 19, 1940 at the First Presbyterian Church in Omaha. He passed away in 1957. She married Henry J. "Bud" Lohmann on Nov. 7, 1964 at Eagle Grove. She married Carl E. Ervin on May 4, 1984 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Omaha. Doris was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Omaha most of her life and a longtime member of the Antioch Class at the church; member of the Narcissus Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and former member of the Red Hat Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Jeffrey and Ada Mae (Bentley) Griffiths; her husbands; her brother, Eugene A. Griffiths; and by an infant great-granddaughter, Dominique Mueller.
Doris is survived by her children: Charles Gass and wife, Kathe of Naples, Fla., John L. Gass and wife, Debbie of Aurora, Colo., and Deborah Nelson and husband, Jeff of Beatrice, Neb..; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by her special caregiver, Helen Kensinger of Omaha.
Memorials may be sent to the Wymore Good Samaritan Center and the Wymore Welsh Heritage Society with the funeral home in charge.
The Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home of Wymore was in charge of the services.
