Pearl E. Hostetler

Former Spencer resident Pearl E. Hostetler, 94, passed away Jan. 20, 2009 at Autumn Health Care Center in Coshocton, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton, Ohio with Pastor Murray McMillen officiating.

Pearl was buried at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugar Creek, Ohio.

Pearl was born May 22, 1914, in Palo Alto County, to the late Henry Wishmere and Nettie Mary Hopkins Stephas.

Pearl was united in marriage to Noah Martin Hostetler, Feb. 25, 1934.

She was employed at Longhouse Residence and South T Motel as a housekeeper, as well as Spencer Community School District as a custodian. At the passing of her husband Pearl retired in Dec. 1977 and moved to West Lafayette, Ohio, where she resided until moving to Coshocton, Ohio.

While living in Spencer, Pearl was a member of the First Baptist Church. In Coshocton, Ohio, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the Women's Missionary Guild in West Lafayette, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah; her parents; three brothers; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

Pearl is survived by seven sons: Uriah M. Hostetler and wife, Dorothy of Coshocton, Ohio; Lloyd J. Hostetler of Conesville, Ohio; Ralph K. Hostetler and wife, Shirley of Newcomerstown, Ohio; Marvin R. Hostetler and wife, Reva of Fresno, Ohio; Harlan D. Hostetler of Byesville; Alvin L. Hostetler and wife, Linda of Coshocton; and Daniel D. Hostetler and wife, Pamela, also of Coshocton; one daughter, Loretta A. Martin of Mayview, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
