Spencer Hospital's first baby of 2009 takes his time
It took awhile for somebody to get the goodies, but Brody Meendering, new son to Brad and Rachel Meendering of Hartley, claimed all the prizes provided by local merchants and services providers. The annual gift package, coordinated by the Spencer Chamber of Commerce was delivered to the Spencer Hospital Friday morning as Brody, his parents, and two-year-old brother Blake prepared to head to his new home. Brody was born at 8:57 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7. He weighed 8 pounds, 8.6 ounces and was 20 inches long. Rachel is an RN at Spencer Hospital and Brad works in the O'Brien County Sheriff's Jail. Grandparents are Dale and Julie Van Dyke of Hull, and Ron and Henny Schuttoffel of Rock Valley.
