Funeral services for Dixie Norgaard, 20, of Dickens, were held Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at Living Word Church in Spencer. Rev. Alan Dean officiated the service.

Interment took place at the Dickens Cemetery in Dickens.

Miss Dixie Norgaard passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Dixie Rae Norgaard, the daughter of Todd E. and Tricia (Arndt) Norgaard, was born Sept. 27, 1988, in Spencer. Her childhood years were spent in Dickens. She attended preschool through sixth grade at South Clay Community School, and continued her schooling in Spencer for three years where she played junior high football. She then attended Ruthven-Ayrshire High School where she enjoyed cheerleading, graduating in 2007.

Following graduation Dixie was blessed with a son, Brock Michael Norgaard. She was presently working as a waitress/cook at Lindy's Steakhouse in Dickens while pursuing her dream of a career in photography.

She was preceded in death by her grandma, Peggy Gale Arndt.

Dixie is survived by her son, Brock Michael Norgaard of Dickens; her parents, Todd E. and Tricia Norgaard of Dickens; three sisters: Jessie Lynn Mendez and husband, Alfonso Vaquero of Dickens, Amy Jean Norgaard of Ruthven, and Nicole Lynn Norgaard of Dickens; and grandparents: Gary Arndt of Dickens, and Alvin and Donna Norgaard of Spencer.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
