The 6th Annual Northwest Iowa Home Show returns to the Clay County Regional Events Center Jan. 16-18, 2009. Enjoy free admission and a variety of exhibits and seminars showcasing the latest in home landscaping, building and remodeling products and services.

"January is a good time to plan your spring projects and take advantage of all the information and expertise provided," said Bill Jackson, producer of the show and president of Spirit Lake-headquartered Jackson Expo Group. "People come to the show to find the newest products and services available for their home improvement projects. The show's exhibits are also great idea starters for those unsure about what to do and how to do it around the home."

Exhibitor displays will include such diverse products as remodeling materials, interior decoration, kitchens, appliances, flooring, garage doors, siding, landscaping ideas, telecommunications equipment, windows, heating and air conditioning, water conditioning systems, home theaters, and more.

In addition to exhibits, do-it-yourselfers will enjoy "How To" seminars featuring a variety of expert presenters speaking on topics of interest to homeowners. Each seminar will be repeated several times during the three-day event.

Versa Lok will discuss adding style and value to the home on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. Explore various floor coverings with Steffen Furniture on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. Steffen Furniture will also showcase window coverings both Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Del's Garden Center will share information about the new plants they are providing Friday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.; designing edible landscapes Saturday at 11 a.m.; and water features and rain gardens Saturday at 2 p.m. Learn how paving stones can add style and value to the home with Willow Creek Saturday at noon and Sunday at 3 p.m. All Del's Garden Center seminars count toward Master Gardener continuing education credits.

"We find people really look forward to these seminars for free information on ways to accomplish home improvement projects," Jackson said. "Whether someone wants to do the work themselves or are looking for experts to do it for them, homeowners have the opportunity to find the answers to a variety of questions and get a preview of the latest in home improvement technology at these seminars."

The show is sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Northwest Iowa and will be open to the public Friday from 5-9 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Admission is free to the show and the "how-to" seminars. For more information, visit www.jacksonexpogroup.com.
