Donald Burdette Munger Jr., the son of Donald and Doris (Nielson-Dalby) Munger Sr., was born April 1, 1950, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent on a farm near Peterson. He attended and graduated from Sioux Valley Community School in 1968.

Following graduation, Don joined the Army until his honorable discharge. He then worked in construction as well as farming and painting.

Don advocated extensively for disability access and disability services throughout the area. He was responsible for numerous improvements to Mankato's access for people with disabilities, and one that includes tireless efforts to raise awareness.

Fuhrman and husband, Michael; daughters: Stephanie Jean and Melissa Christine Frye; six grandchildren; a god-daughter, Kaliee Labs and her mother Jessica Labs.
