Funeral services for Mrs. Faye Braunschweig, 84 of Spencer will be held at 1 p.m, today, Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Scott Meier will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Sutherland's Waterman Cemetery.

Faye passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at Spencer Hospital.

Margaret Faye Braunschweig, the daughter of Lawrence and Marie Roberts (Gregory) Phillips, was born March 23, 1924, in Monroe, La. Her childhood years were spent in Oak Ridge, La., where she received her education, graduating from Oak Ridge High School.

Faye married Gladwin Braunschweig on April 22, 1945. Following their marriage, they lived in the Sutherland and Peterson area, where she was a homemaker. She did a lot of volunteer work during her life and was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Following her husband's death, Faye moved to Spencer in 1993, where she was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, RSVP and the DAR. Faye also worked as a teacher's aide and enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gladwin in January of 1988; two sisters: Lela and Jeraldine and a brother, Tommy Phillips; and two son-in-laws: Kevin Oehler and Rodney Nolan.

Faye is survived by one son, Paul Braunschweig and his wife, Jody of Alta,; four daughters: Melanie Nolan of Kingwood, Texas, Gladys Heys and her husband, Russell of Albert Lea, Minn., Elizabeth Warner and her husband, Hugh of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Theresa Linden and her husband, Norman of Wallingford; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jimmie Kramer of Alexandria, La.

Memorials may be given to the Spencer Hospital Auxiliary.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
