Margaret 'Marnie' Larson

A private family memorial service for Margaret "Marnie" Larson, 93 will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

Marnie Larson, 93, of Wahpeton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at her home in Wahpeton. She was born on July 27, 1915, in Maxwell, to Roy and Margaret (Mingle) Proctor.

Marnie graduated from Maxwell High School in 1931, and went on to further her education, graduating from the University of Iowa, with a RN Degree. She was united in marriage to Leonard Larson on May 6, 1939, in Iowa City. Leonard passed away on Oct. 31, 1986.

Marnie was a member of the United Methodist Church, P.E.O., the Okoboji Yacht Club and the Spencer Municipal Hospital Board of Trustees for over 20 years, where she served as president from 1977-1979.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leonard.

Marnie is survived by a daughter, Judi Hayes and her husband, Jimmy, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons: Steven Larson and his wife, Surapha of Seattle, Wash., and David Larson and his wife, Carol of Spirit Lake; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Marnie's name.

The Schuchert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
