Helen Maxine Fisher, 80, of Spirit Lake, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Hilltop Care Center.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake.
Visitation will be held Sunday, from 3-5 p.m. at the Schuchert Funeral Home.
Burial will be at St. Margaret's Cemetery in Spirit Lake.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1928, in Spencer to Reuben and Elizabeth (Heien) Curry.
Helen graduated from Spencer High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Jack Fisher on Nov. 6, 1948, in Spencer. Jack passed away Dec. 30, 1981. Helen cooked at the Spirit Lake Schools for many years before retiring in 1985.
Helen was a member of the V.F.W.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; a brother, Duane Curry; a daughter, Debra Ann Fisher; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Mason.
Helen is survived by three daughters: Beth Fisher of Spirit Lake, Cathy Watts and her husband, Jim of Lake Park, and Sue Nebelsick and her husband, Keith of Spirit Lake; two sons: Mike Fisher of Spirit Lake, and Bill Fisher and his wife, Melanie of Spirit Lake; a sister, Maerene Mason of Spencer; a brother, Darrell "Buzz" Curry and his wife, Lucille of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Gerry Curry of Estherville; a special friend, Bill Born of Milford; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Helen's name.
