Amelia R. "Millie" (Tindall) Kudrin
Funeral services for Amelia R. "Millie" Kudrin, 63, of Sheldon, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley with the Rev. Terry P. Simm officiating.
Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 in the St. Jacob's Catholic Cemetery in Graettinger.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, Nov. 20th after 4 p.m. at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
Millie passed away on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at her residence in Sheldon.
Amelia Ruth "Millie" Kudrin, the daughter of Glenn and Cora (Smith) Smoot was born Sept. 18, 1945 in Laurens, Iowa. Millie started school in Laurens, and in the third grade she moved with her parents to Royal, where she attended school and graduated from the Royal High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Ron Taylor in June 1966, he preceded her in death in August of 1969; in January of 1971, Millie married Joe Tindall and he preceded her in death in August of 1982. On Sept. 19, 1987, Millie was united in marriage to David S. Kudrin in Omaha, Neb. They lived in Omaha and in Missouri Valley, before moving to the Sheldon area in 1995; David preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2003 in Sheldon. Millie had worked as the editor of the Graettinger Times in Graettinger; she had owned and operated a cake shop in Emmetsburg for 9 years and for over 40 years she has worked with people with special needs. For the past several years, Millie has been employed with the Village Northwest in Sheldon.
Millie was of a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her three husbands: Ron, Joe and David; her parents; and two infant brothers.
Millie is survived by her children: Michael Taylor and his wife, Mary of Patuxent River, Md, and Michelle Francis of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Peggy Luchtel and her husband, Lenis of Lake View, Linda Swenson of Spencer, and Flo Lombard and her husband, Ted of Anchorage, Alaska; and brother, Bart Smoot and his wife, Becky of Royal.
