Funeral services for Oscar Altamirano-Pavon, 37 of Mexico, formerly of Spencer will be held at 5 p.m., today, Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Rev. Brent Lingle will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Sementerio San Felipe in Tierra Blanca Veracruz, Mexico at a later date.

Oscar passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 as a result of injuries sustained in a van accident near Albert Lea, Minn.

Oscar Altamirano Pavon, the son of Aurora Altamirano, was born on Aug. 6, 1971 in Tierra Blanca, Veracruz. He received his early education in Tierra Blanca and was brought up by his mother and his grandfather, Genaro Altamirano.

Oscar and Virginia Flores Peńa were united in Holy Matrimony. The couple was blessed with a son, Oscar Altamirano Flores. Oscar brought his family to Spencer four years ago with the dream of giving his family a good life. While living in Spencer, Oscar was a very dedicated worker, employed by G & C Poultry for the last four years, working alongside his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Paulina Pavon Castillo.

Oscar is survived by his mother, Aurora Altamirano of Spencer; his wife, Virginia Flores Peńa and son, Oscar Altamirano Flores -- both of Spencer; his brother, Rogelio Martinez Altamirano and his wife, Lidia Castillo of Spencer; sisters: Maria de los Angeles Martinez Altamirano and her husband, Roman Rivera of Tierra Blanca, and Dora Maria Altamirano and her husband, Mauro Jimenez of Spencer; and his grandfather, Genaro Altamirano.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
