Funeral services for Mr. Everett Hintz, 75 of Everly will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at United Methodist Church in Everly. Rev. Annette K. Ruhs Kruse will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.

Military services will be conducted by Everett Boyles Jr. Post 414 of Everly.

Everett passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 at Spencer Hospital.

Everett Raymond Hintz, the son of Clarence and Viola Schott Hintz, was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Everly. His childhood years were spent in Everly where he received his education, graduating from Everly High School in 1952. He entered the military on May 6, 1953, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on May 2, 1955. Following his discharge, he returned to Everly where he worked for LeRoy Dirks at Dirks Repair as a mechanic.

Everett married Verla Lou Grapenthin on March 31, 1956, in Sutherland. Following their marriage, he worked for Topsoil Schoenewe driving a fertilizer truck for 40 years until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked part-time in the meat department at Hy-Vee Food Store in Spencer..

His parents preceded him in death.

Everett is survived by his wife, Verla Lou of Everly; two daughters: Rita Newkirk and husband, Randal of Everly, and LuCinda Wilson and husband, Duane of Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, George Hintz of Everly.

Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of arrangements.
