A lifelong resident of Palo Alto County, he received his education at St. Mary's Academy in Emmetsburg, graduating in 1948. In 1951 Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, making rank of Sergeant and serving until 1953, when he was honorably discharged. Never one to sit still very long, Bob held various other jobs both before and after retirement, the last being custodial work at the Emmetsburg Post Office.

Bob was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also active in the church choir. Bob had sung in the Many Voices Choir for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers: Homer Mileham, Jr. and James Mileham; and an infant son.

Bob is survived by his children: Patricia Mileham of Valparaiso, Ind. and John Mileham of Kanawha; and a granddaughter, Kaleigh Lindholm of Hibbing, Minn.
