The search for a probation violator ended with the apparent discovery of drugs, including cocaine and methamphetamine, according to a statement from the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies on Wednesday went to an apartment at 113 East Fourth Street in Spencer to check on Kenneth Versluis at the request of adult probation officers from the Third Judicial District Office.
"During the search a quantity of cocaine, a quantity of methamphetamine, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were seized," the sheriff's statement said. "Versluis was placed under arrest, and transported to the Clay County Jail."
Versluis was charged with possession of a controlled substance -- cocaine, which was enhanced to a Class D Felony; possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, Class C felony and possession of drug paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor.
Versluis is being held in the Clay County Jail on $50,000 bond.
