Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Warren, 78, of Sutherland will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at the Church of Christ in Sutherland. Revs. John Erickson, Don Gordon and Mike Cooper will officiate the service.

Interment at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland will take place.

Jo passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Baum-Marmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar.

Margaret Joan "Jo" Warren, the daughter of Edgar "Ed" and Ida Marie (Perkins) Burke, was born July 23, 1930, in Sheldon. Her family moved to Cherokee when she was three years old, where she received her education, graduating from Cherokee High School.

Jo married Gordon Warren on Aug. 1, 1953, in Cherokee. Following their marriage, they lived in Sutherland.

She spent her life as a homemaker and devoted loving wife and mother. She worked as a data processor for the nine years they resided in Florida. Jo also worked as a head cook at Millie's Rest Home for seven years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Sutherland, where she was active in bible study. Jo was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Sutherland.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Gordon.

Jo is survived by her children: Larry Warren and his wife, Patricia of Orange Park, Fla., Sharon Boles and her husband, Russell of Primghar, Robert Warren and his wife, Nancy of Spencer, and Deborah "Deb" Crouch and her husband, Virgil of Primghar; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara McRae of Jacksonville, Fla..

Warner Funeral Home of Sutherland is in charge of arrangements.
