Funeral services for Agnes L. Pilquist, 93, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. Rev. Luther Thoresen will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven.

Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.

Agnes passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the Ruthven Community Care Center in Ruthven, where she had resided since 2004.

Agnes Louise (Iverson) Pilquist, the daughter of P.K. and Anna (Duhn) Iverson, was born on April 21, 1915, in Highland Township, Palo Alto County.

Agnes was baptized and confirmed at Lost Island Lutheran Church in Ruthven. She attended local schools and graduated from Ruthven High School in 1932. After graduation she attended Hamilton School of Business in Mason City and Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minn. On Dec. 13, 1961, Agnes was united in marriage to Leonard Pilquist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a step-daughter, Elaine Rouse; one brother; and four sisters.

Agnes is survived by her step-son, Kenneth and his wife, Ardis of Estherville; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and two sisters, Edith Fletcher and Esther Hermansen.

Arrangements are being handled by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.
