Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Stamer, 80, of Sutherland will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Rev, LeRoy Riemer will officiate service.

Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Warner Funeral Home with the family present from 5:30-7 p.m.

Interment will take place at the Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland.

Gladys passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland.

Gladys Mae Stamer, the daughter of Orvel and Clara Hagedorn Wede, was born Jan. 10, 1928 on a farm northeast of Sutherland. She received her education at Grant No. 8 country school northeast of Sutherland and later graduated from Larrabee High School.

On Feb. 14, 1948, Gladys married Clarence Stamer in Sutherland. Most of their life was spent on farms in the Sutherland area. Gladys was a homemaker and farmer. She worked side by side with Clarence with their dairy cows and their farming operation. She was a lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Delbert Wede; a sister-in-law, Luella Wede and her husband, Clarence in 2002.

Galdys is survived by two daughters: Carol Kennedy and her husband, Randy of Spencer, and Donna Johnson and her husband, Dennis of Coon Rapids, Minn.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland is in charge of arrangements.
