(Photo submitted) The Maia Quartet will perform in Spencer as part of the Spencer Area Concert Association's 2008--09 series.

Season tickets for the Spencer Area Concert Association will go on sale Sept. 6 at Arts on Grand and at the Art Barn at the Clay County Fair.

The 2008--09 season will be the biggest ever, with eight concerts in Spencer. Along with their season tickets, subscribers will receive an order form for tickets to the Vienna Boys Choir concert on Valentine's Day 2009. Tickets for the Vienna Boys Choir concert will go on sale to the general public on Nov. 1.

As in previous years, Spencer season ticket holders may attend concerts in Algona, Sheldon, and Windom by presenting their season tickets at the door. The April Verch band will open both Algona's and Windom's season with a concert of Canadian folk and bluegrass music on Sept. 15 and 16, respectively. Spencer's season will open the following weekend, when multi-instrumentalist Todd Green will perform music from around the world in a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Sept.21, at the Events Center Ballroom. Please note that the date, time, and place of this concert has been changed due to a scheduling conflict.

Season tickets are priced at $40 for adults, $16 for students, or $90 for families. After the fair, they will continue to be available at Arts on Grand or at the door before concerts. For more information about the Spencer Area Concert Association or to request a brochure, phone Arts on Grand at 262-4307.
