Graveside services for Connie Butler, 57, of Spencer, will take place at 10:30 a.m., today, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Rev. Tonna Parsons will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Connie passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at her home in Spencer

Connie Eileene Butler, the daughter of Herbert Butler, Sr. and Shirley Marble was born on April 24, 1951, in Spencer. She was raised and received her early education in Spencer graduating from Spencer High School. Following graduation she worked at the processing plant in Hartley for about a year before attending Midwest Coast Transfer, a truck driving school.

Connie drove truck for several different companies, Holiday Express, Safeway and Kardell's. She also worked for Ashley Furniture in Arcadia, Wis., and the Daily Reporter. Connie lived in the communities of Sheldon, Osseo, Wis., Waukon, and Clermont, Fla., before coming back and settling in Spencer. She was a member of the Little Sioux Breakers CB club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John in 2003; and one nephew.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Shannon Butler of Spencer; her son, Alan Brausey of Sioux Falls, S.D.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Herbie Butler of Spencer; and two sisters: Fayette Butler of Rock Rapids, and Wanda Brausey of Norfolk, Neb.

Warner Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
