The Spencer Chamber Ambassadors were on hand Thursday morning for the ribbon cutting, signifying the grand opening of a new department store in Spencer's Southpark Mall. Peebles, with about 300 stores nationwide, features a wide array of clothing and shoes for children, men and women, along with fragrances and gift items. Jessica Muckey is the manager of the new 12,500 square foot store, which employs 15-20 area residents. The store will be open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.
