Funeral services for Lois Ann Cody, 79, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Depew. Rev. David Moore will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at South St. John's Cemetery in Depew.

Lois passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.

Lois Ann Cody, daughter of George and Myrtle (Harvey) Harrison, was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Emmetsburg. She received her education in Cylinder, graduating from Cylinder High School.

On Nov. 14, 1947, Lois was united in marriage to Kenneth Cody at St. John's Lutheran Church in Depew. To this union six children were born. Lois and Ken made their home on a farm near Cylinder.

Lois was a devoted homemaker caring for her family and also working with Ken on the farm. Lois was a day care provider for fourteen years. Lois was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Depew where she was active in WELCA Circle and guild. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and active in the Senior Center and Northwest Aging.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; brothers, Willard, James, Glen, Richard and Paul Harrison; and a sister, Betty Gjerde.

Lois is survived by her children: David Cody and wife, Patsy of Pella, Jon Cody and wife, Linda of Richardson, Texas, Becky Finer and husband, Steve of Emmetsburg, Mark Cody and wife, Connie of Sutherland, Steven Cody and wife, Joni of Emmetsburg, and Kimberly Weihe of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George Harrison and wife, Donna of Peterson; and sisters: Dorothy Nase and husband, Bud of Mankato, Minn.; Marilyn Egland and husband, Larry of Emmetsburg, and Janice Joynt and husband, Jerry of Clear Lake.

Arrangements are being handled by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.
