A traffic stop by a Clay County Deputy landed a Minnesota man in the Clay County Jail on traffic and drug charges.
At approximately 6:23 p.m. Friday a Clay County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, 47-year-old Mark Gruben of Freeborn, Minn., the deputy observed an open can of beer and noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The deputy had Gruben step out and had him perform several field sobriety tests. The deputy determined that Gruben was operating while intoxicated. Gruben was placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle turned up approximately one-fourth of an ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Gruben was then transported to the Clay County Jail.
Gruben was charged with operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, excessive Speeding (62 in a 35 mph zone), a simple misdemeanor, open container-driver, a simple misdemeanor, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was held in jail to appear before a magistrate.
ARRESTS
* Robert Pemble, 47, Solon, was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated at 2:19 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of B24 and M27. He was held in jail to appear before a magistrate.
* A 17-year-old female from Spencer was charged with operating without an owner's consent, a .02 violation, minor in possession of alcohol and speeding at 11:40 a.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of Highway 71. Officers also determined the minor was using a vehicle without the owner's consent. She was cited into juvenile court and released to a parent.
* Charlotte Nissen, 59, Spencer, was arrested at her residence in the 1500 block of 12th Avenue West at 8:06 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, stemming from two Dickinson County warrants and one Emmet County warrant. She posted bond and was released.
* A 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both of Spencer, were cited at 10:19 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, for discharging a BB gun within city limits. They were released to their parents.
* Police charged Joel Guthrie, 16, Milford, and Patrick Lahr, 17, Spirit Lake with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Lahr also was charged with possession of burglar tools. They were arrested at 12:43 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, in the 300 block of 11th Street Southeast. They were transported to Clay County Jail and later to the Youth Emergency Services Center in Cherokee.
* Jesse Clark, 22 , Little Sioux, was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated at 7:47 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Grand Avenue. He was transported to the Clay County Jail.
* Genaro Gomez Menendez, 25, Spencer, was charged with public intoxication at 1:57 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Third Avenue West. He was transported to the Clay County Jail.
* Eric Roberts, 30, Spencer, was charged with domestic assault at 1:42 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, in the 500 block of East 19th Street. He was transported to the Clay County Jail.
* A 17-year-old female from Spencer and a 16-year-old male from Hartley were charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 in the 500 block of Third Avenue West. They were released to parents.
