Accompanied by a NBC Nashville Star production crew, Shawn Mayer returned to May City Wednesday night where she performed a free concert before packed streets of fans as storm clouds rolled overhead. Mayer, who recently made it into the top four of the nationally televised country music performing contest, rode in on a Harley Davidson and was greeted by approximately 3,000 fans. Mayer's performance in her home town, as well as her stops in Spencer and throughout the area Wednesday, will be part of a segment on Nashville Star's upcoming show. The show airs Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC. Photos from Mayer's May City concert will appear in Saturday's Daily Reporter.
