Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Fastenow, 89, of Peterson, will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Thursday, July 24, 2008, at St. John's Church in Peterson. Rev. Bruce Rapp will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery of Peterson.

Lillian passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Sunset Knoll Nursing Home in Aurelia.

Lillian Mae (Rohrbaugh) Fastenow, the daughter of Charles and Eva (Cunningham) Rohrbaugh, was born April 21, 1919, at Peterson, in Clay County. Her childhood years were spent in Peterson where she received her education and graduated from Peterson High School in 1938.

Lillian was united in marriage to Jesse W. Fastenow on June 8, 1938, at Peterson. Following their marriage they farmed south of Peterson.

She was a member of the St. John's Women's Fellowship and Rushing Brooke Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Fastenow; and her parents, Charles and Eva Rohrbaugh.

Lillian is survived by her three children: Jerry Fastenow and wife, Sheryl of Spirit Lake, Soni Williams and husband, Bob of Crowheart Wyo., and Jesse Fastenow and wife, Peg of Peterson; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kelley of Benton Harbor, Mich.; and one aunt, Lorna Johnson of Spencer.

Warner Funeral Home of Peterson is in charge of arrangements.
